Artist Bio
My name is Guy With Stick and I am the Pixel Artist behind Guy With Stick.
Since I discovered Minecraft as a child, I have been in love with pixelated graphics.
In COVID-19 pandemic I began making my own pixel art as a hobby.
All my pixel art is hand pixelated using the Pixilart.com desktop tool and a pink XP-PEN Drawing Tablet.
Why Guys with Sticks?
One day I made a watercolour painting of a mountainous landscape. To show scale, I added a little Guy holding a Stick.
Adding the Guy became a habit of mine, and suddenly people starting enjoying finding the Guy with Stick in my work.
The Guy with Stick took on a life of this own. People question, is it the same person? The same stick? Is there a narrative that Pixel Art follows? I prefer letting the viewer decide.
When did you start?
The pandemic's boredom triggered my desire for a new hobby. I have always loved Pixelated graphics, but since lockdown I have been a hobby pixel artist on a semi-regular basis.
